Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to create a bespoke piece and how much does it cost?
The process from the first sketch to the final piece of fine art jewelry is a unique experience for both the client and the designer, and takes time. From start to finish, the full bespoke process takes between 4 to 6 weeks.
Prices vary individually, depending on the workload, input and materials used. Please note that our bespoke commission starts at a minimum price of 1500 Euros and from 900 Euros for a custom creation using your own gold jewelry.
How does the bespoke project work if you live abroad and/or can’t meet Anaïs in person to discuss?
Don’t worry. It’s a pity we won’t meet personally but we will definitely e-meet. We will set up a (video) call.
As we proceed, you will receive follow up e-mails or Whatsapp messages, including photos or videos, to make sure you stay in the loop. Once your very own piece of Fine Jewelry Art - your bespoke treasure - is finished, we will ship it securely.
We ship worldwide, the shipping costs may vary by location. Please note that all customs duty have to be paid by the client. Within France shipping is free.
Expectations: What is the process of creating a bespoke jewelry piece like?
As a first step, before even starting the bespoke commission, we recommend to get inspired by the Anaïs C. collection, the bespoke collection shown on our website & Instagram profile (@anaisc.jewelry).
As a second step, please reach out to Anaïs C. to book an appointment with our founder and artist Anais personally. This appointment will be either in person at her atelier in Biarritz, France or via phone. The e-mail address to get in contact with Anais C. for a bespoke commission is: contact@anaisc.com.
Each bespoke project is highly individual, so the following steps may vary. After the appointment, Anaïs will work on a proposal for you, in some cases you’ll receive first sketches. Please note here that each jewelry piece is hand-sculpted, created with her own methodology by using the ancient lost wax technique. Therefore, each piece has fine details in their texture - iconic signs that can not be drawn on paper.
Once the prototype or the sketch is confirmed by the customer, we will send you a quote by e-mail. Quotes are valid for 7 days only, due to the fluctuations of the gold price. When the quote is accepted via e-mail by the customer, a non-refundable 50% deposit is due prior to proceed with your bespoke commission.
What gemstones would you recommend for a bespoke jewelry gift?
Bespoke jewelry pieces are made-to-order, they are unique per definition and thus, are probably the most individual gift one can make and receive. The choice of the stone(s) is very personal.
I love to recommend emeralds for engagement rings or for very special occasions like a gift for a big birthday or anniversary. This gemstone is magical in so many ways, precious and a great alternative to diamonds. Emeralds are very well-known, but actually pretty uncommon for engagement rings. For an extra sparkle a diamond pavé, a lining with smaller diamonds, can be added.
A rough diamond is also a very, very special gemstone for an engagement ring. It’s extremely rare to be able to provide an uncut gem, so we are happy and proud to do so.
For birth gifts, I usually recommends pastel colored gemstones such as spinels or the delicate pearls.
